Okay I really loved this book more than I hoped. Callie Taylor is an average 31 year old teacher when her recently deceased mother's best friend informs her that her mother has been keeping a secret about her father. She learns that her father is not dead like she thought but he is in fact presidential hopeful and senator Warren Sherbrookes. This throws Callie's world off balance throw in a sexy Adonis Brit and Callie's world is thrown in a tailspin. Dylan Talbot is instantly suspicious when all of the sudden his step father gets a letter informing him that he had a daughter. He intends to get to the bottom of this to she if in fact he is her father and what she wants from Warren. When Dylan meets Callie he can see the family resemblance to his siblings and believes in fact she is Warren's daughter. They both feel instant attraction towards each other and over the course of a few visits he knows Callie is no threat toWarren and he doesn't need to be around but he can't get her out of his head. When Warren's campaign manager asks Dylan to keep an eye on Callie he jumps at the opportunity to spend more time with her. After realizing they have many common interest and have an ease around the other their relationship blooms into something other than friendship. Dylan has been burned before and tries to keep Callie at arms length emotionally but when he is around her he can't seems to feel anything but love and contentment for her. Things go bad when Callie finds out that Dylan has been hanging out with her to make sure she did not spill about being Warren's Daughter even though for him it was not about that. Their brother Jake (I know weird but he is half brother to both) convinces Dylan that Callie is not his ex and that he is in love with her, he realizes that he must fight for the woman he loves. It ends nicely with the couple marring and most of the family accepting her as family (except her sister Sara) and are happy for the two of them.

I love the character and plot development. The book was well paced and no point felt rushed or bogged down. The main characters were endearing felt instantly comfortable reading about them. The secondary characters added to the story especially Lauren, Callie's best friend and Jake. I can't wait to see Jake find love.

I picked this one up as an Amazon freebie. It was inexplicable, really, because I'm not generally drawn toward anything with 'billionaire' in the title or blurb. I think I was having one of those nostalgic moments when I saw the title of the series. I had a flashback to one of my favorite movie romances, Sabrina, and picked it up. It was a gut move and turned out to be a good one as far as thinking Sabrina thoughts. It bore a lot in common with it though it was by no means the same story.

The Teacher's Billionaire introduces The Sherbrooke family. They come from old wealth and now are becoming a power in politics. Into their midst a letter arrives and old wealth will meet a fresh and charming woman who is no threat, but they can't believe anyone is not mad to get in good so Warren is cautioned about meeting his long lost daughter and his step-son Dylan is tasked with the delicate job of scouting out Callie Taylor and keeping an eye on her. If he honestly thought her a threat, this would be nothing, but she is exactly who she is and sweet and attractive as well. He's falling for her and now has the guilt of knowing what she will think when she learns the truth.

Callie is shocked at her mother's deception for all those years and struggles not to be angry and hurt at the decision that kept her a secret from her father and vice versa. Now, he wants to meet her and get to know her. Warren Sherbrooke is nothing like she expected and yet, exactly that. His wealth and status are a chasm between their two worlds and she constantly feels it even as she spends time with Dylan and fights her attraction. It can never be more than friendly, right?

This had a nice feel-good vibe to it and had a little drama, but stayed on the gentle side. Callie was a sweet school teacher, loved her dog, Jane Austen, and trips to the beach. My kind of gal. Dylan was a real gentleman even though he didn't think he was a relationship sort of guy. He'd been burned in the past and didn't want to get hurt or hurt Callie because of his issues. But, their friendly encounters and ease with each other drew them together in spite of his past and the difference in their status up to this point. Callie got stubborn about holding back from her family and Dylan using the family wealth as a way to hold back. It got frustrating because it was a cut off her nose to spite her face thing since she knew her dad was genuine and so was Dylan even if he screwed up. But, I get it. Anyone who got a family like that sprung on them and the situation that was going on would feel inadequate and wary. It had a modern fairytale unreality quality to it and that worked for me.

It read fast and was developed nicely though the end was abrupt in comparison. It sorted out quick after all the build up with Dylan's secret watch, her step-mom and sister not wanting her around, and all. The end was left a bit open in some ways though it wasn't exactly missing anything so much as seemed to be setting up a series. Maybe some of that will be followed up on with the rest of the series.

Incidentally, I saw reviews about atrocious grammar and spelling. I read an updated edition so it must have been cleaned up since then so no worries about that sort of thing.

So, while it wasn't riveting, it was sweet and enjoyable, more than meeting my moderate expectations. I would recommend it to those who lean toward sweeter romances and modern fairytale-style contemporary romances. I will most likely continue with the series to get Callie's half-siblings stories because the family was definitely an interesting group.

This is my favourite books by Christina Tetreault.

It's very well written, has a bit of mystery, intrigue and of course romance.

Cali leads a simple life as a school teacher with her little dog Lucky. When one day her life is upended by her late mothers friend in the form of a letter. Mrs Lee has posted a copy of this letter to Senator Warren Sherbrooke telling him that Cali is his daughter.

Warren already has 2grown up children Sara and Jake with his wife Elizabeth and a stepson Dylan. While discussing the letter Dylan offers to be mediator with Cali until they can arrange a meeting.

    And so the story begins...
