I have anxiously waited for the release of Carfagno’s next book in this exciting series, and I have not been disappointed. The sequencing is a little different, with each volume comprising enough to be a book on its own, but this volume, #3, is actually the end of book #1.
As with the entire series, there are numerous plot lines to follow and a host of characters that encounter uniquely, fantastic adventures. The story of Gilex, which begins this book is really well done and the battle for Redden is also very entertaining. One of the aspects I so enjoy about this author’s writing is his ability to choreograph a fight scene. The battle sequences are intricate, dragging the reader into the melee between any number of gifted heroes or villainous foes. The cast is absolutely vast, which will keep any reader on their toes, but it’s been fun to follow each of them along their mythical journey.
While reading these books, I’ve especially enjoyed the fantasy-type players, including the Lizardmen, Demons, and the Red Knight, but there are just so many to choose from you’ll encounter several to call your own. Book #3 of A Demon’s Quest brings many of the plot lines to dramatic conclusions and I won’t spoil them for you, but let me just say, you never know when your favorite character may be at the receiving end of a deadly weapon. I love the fact that the author is willing to take chances and turn the reader on his/her head when it’s least expected.
The writing in this series continues to get better and better. The sentence structure has improved throughout and the editing has been kicked up a notch as well – I will look forward to his next offering. If you’ve not read the first two volumes and love imaginative, fantasy writing, I would recommend downloading them to prepare you for the awesome ending to Book #1 of this series. Perfect if you love magic, fantasy and all out war.
