Four Wishes (Liberty Series Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 2,953 ratings

Meade Williams has a successful company, an ailing father and a secret desire to find love at last. A new man in town intrigues her—but she isn’t prepared for the surprising events that will change both their lives. Meade isn’t the only woman in town confronting hard choices. Dr. Mary Chance isn’t sure the time is right to expand her family. Birdie Kaminsky hopes the preparations for her upcoming wedding will bring her closer to her powerful sister. And young Glade Wilson must confront the daunting truth that she’ll become a mother before finishing high school. Welcome back to Liberty, Ohio where the heartwarming stories of love, friendship and family life unfold in unexpected ways. Q & A with the Author For readers new to the Liberty Series, please give us some background. The Liberty Series are clean romance kindle books that blend humorous moments with scenes that’ll bring a tear to your eye. I think of the books as relationship novels centered on inspiring stories about the extraordinary events in ordinary lives. The stories take place in a fictional small town that celebrates family life and old-fashioned values. Each book is a stand-alone novel: I don’t leave readers with frustrating cliffhangers! What will readers discover in Four Wishes, the fourth book in the series? In some ways, Four Wishes is a coming of age novel for a character new to the series, Glade Wilson. Glade is searching for a second chance at putting her life on the right track—she’s dealing with a teenage pregnancy when she first arrives on Meade William’s doorstep. Meade is the sister of the main character in Treasure Me, the first book in the series. Meade is wealthy, successful and approaching middle age with the sense that all the outward trappings of a good life aren’t enough. Secretly she’d like to find love but, like many mature adults, she’s become the caretaker for an ailing parent. Her father Landon suffers from depression and grief stemming from mistakes made earlier in his life. Their relationship provides many of the novel’s more poignant moments. Dr. Mary Chance also plays a major role in Four Wishes. Do you think her reappearance will surprise readers? I certainly hope so! In Second Chance Grill, Mary is the doctor that finds love with Liberty’s single father, Anthony Perini. In Four Wishes, her story revolves around the parenting-career decisions the newly married couple now faces. As Liberty’s only doctor, Mary isn’t sure the time is right to have a baby. She’s happy parenting Blossom, Anthony’s precocious daughter—but Blossom is on a mission to become the big sister of a new bundle of joy. The subplot, “Should Mary have a baby?” provides Four Wishes with touches of comedy and a bittersweet look at family life. What role does Birdie play in Four Wishes? Readers will see her relationship with Meade develop in unexpected ways. The two sisters couldn’t be more dissimilar, but their mutual love for their father will bring them closer together. Once again, Ms. Nolfi delivers the goods! The Liberty Series books are wonderful stories with strong character development. Since this is the 4th book in the series, I'd recommend that you read the first 3 first - BUT - this book actually stands alone as a great story. It's well developed and refers back to the other stories enough to jog the memory but not to bore. Neither does it confuse if you choose to read just this book, (But I know that if that is your choice, you'll want to go back to the earlier stories to get better acquainted with the residents of Liberty.) The characters in Christine's books are strong people. They have their flaws, but they overcome. We can all draw strength from them. The stories are entertaining and well written. One book flows into the next without effort, but yet each book can be read alone. I was happy to learn that there will be more books in the series and that I didn't have to say good-bye to my friends in Liberty. I hate when reviews have spoilers in them, so I'll just say that Meade, Birdie, Theodora, Hector, Hugh, and the rest of the gang lead interesting lives and I'm glad to be able to get a glimpse of them. Treat yourself to this fun series and you won't be disappointed. You'll wish you lived in Liberty!

I started with book 4 and I have to say that at first I was not enchanted. It just didn't seem like the kind of romance book I was looking for. But, I decided it was different enough to give it a shot. I have to say I am glad that I did. While on the surface this seems to be a lazy, laid back little back water of a town and the characters are interesting if not riveting, I soon learned that this was not the case.

The characters quickly became important and their lives became something that I felt invested in. It was not a romance as I am used to but rather a very deep, sweet and nostalgic love story. It's the story a towns love for itself and for each of the very unique characters who call this place home. I found Mary, the physician, Franny the Last Chance Grill cook, Birdie Meade's sister and all the other ladies were wonderful and fast friends and neighbors. Exactly the type of place each of us dreams of being a part of. Where we can not only be ourselves but can allow others to be who they are as well. They sweet, funny, sad and have lives that make for a great and fully developed storyline.

I have to say I like it a lot and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a wonderful story with deep roots and loving people who genuinely care for each other and can cheer them on in good times, and grieve when disasters fall. I think you will love it.

Another incredible book by Christine Nolfi. This is the fourth book in the Liberty series, but can also be read as a stand alone novel. I absolutely loved this book!! I have had the pleasure of reading all 4 books in this series and feel like I know all the characters. The characters are well developed and the story flows effortlessly. You will love Liberty and all of the people who live there. It's a story of love, loss, friendship and family. Christine Nolfi has a way of telling a story that just draws you in from the very first page. You will absolutely love this series and I highly recommend that you read all of the books that she writes. She is a gifted storyteller. You can and will escape into Liberty and will love every minute of it. You will laugh and you will cry. A book should make you feel, and that is exactly what all of her books do to me. Please, read this book and all others that she has written. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 100 million stars!!

I know I am reading an excellent book when the author takes me by the hand on page one and leads me into her/his fictional world so fast I don't remember turning to page two. Christine Nolfi is such an author and never disappoints. She has penned another winner in this, book four of the Liberty series. Each book is a stand alone with no cliff-hanger ending, which I absolutely love, and the characters and their stories grow in each one. And what "characters" they are, running the full gamut of personalities from which much hilarity can ensue! New characters are also introduced and believe me, life in Liberty, Ohio is far from boring. In my opinion, Four Wishes is the best book of the series yet. So much happened in this book, paving the way for many more Liberty stories to come I hope! I truly can't wait to see what happens next! Highly recommend this series, most definitely.

Christine Nolfi is amazing! Her ability to bring her characters to life and make you feel a part of the story is incredible. While this is the 4th book in the series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone without feeling lost or confused. As a matter of fact, I was first introduced to Ms. Nolfi's books when I purchased book 2, Second Chance Grill on a Bookbub sale. After reading it, I then went back to read books 1 and 3 without any problem. This series is about a small town and the people who live there. They are flawed but strong and, more importantly, so real. You will fall in love with them, laugh at their antics, cheer them on during their struggles, and applaud them for the love and support they give to each other. Congratulations to Ms. Nolfi on this truly wonderful series. I look forward to reading more by this exceptionally talented author.

A great and perfect summer read!
I had the honor of proof reading the final edition before this book was printed. Maede, Mary, Birdie, Glade, Reenie, Landon, Hector, Hugh, Theodora... all of these characters are crocheted with love for the detail and make the story something special. This episode in the Liberty series spices the whole story up nicely and there are hopefully many more stories to come.

Lovely story. Lots of storylines, but never missed a beat. Easy to read, easy to get lost in this book (time ran away with me!). Very well written. I really enjoyed this book by Christine -- my first novel by her, but not likely my last either!
