The Diary Of A Middle School Tomboy Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 10 ratings

Middle school was hard. Trust me, as an eighth-grader at Pine Ridge Middle School, I already knew this. What I didn’t know was that it was about to get a lot harder for me.

When I woke Monday morning, my to-do list consisted of spending time with my friends, doing homework, and waiting for basketball season to start in a few months. All that changed at lunchtime. Now, instead of watching the middle school football team games, I was about to try out for the team. As if that wasn’t tough enough, I had to do it while the boy I had liked since sixth grade watched and deal with the rumors someone started about me at school.

Thankfully, I had three of the best friends in the world, and I knew with their help I would get through this. Who knew, maybe I would make the team and get the guy before it was all over.

A fun, inspiring book about a 13 yo girl who joins the all-boy football team. She faces bullying and struggles with the kinds of insecurities that young girls do. The book does end a little abruptly, though, in my opinion. There is at least one minor plot point that never comes to a satisfying conclusion, making me wonder why it was put in there at all. I was expecting consequences but nothing came of it.

Overall, a decent read. I might have enjoyed it even more if I was the target age range.

It was good other than I feel like there should be more. It stopped at a part that would usually be the middle for most books sooooo.... We never got to figure out if they even went on a second date and for football if something happened like she got injured
