About the Author

At 6, I wrote my first book, "You're Yucky in Some Ways", which was never published - probably one of the reasons it never made the bestsellers' list. Ever since, I've enjoyed writing both fiction and non-fiction.

Born in the USA, I'm now living in my fourth country - Austria - in the beautiful Inn Valley, with mountains on both sides. My first full-length book, Orange Sparkles, was actually inspired by the city I was living in, Modi'in, and my experiences moving to Germany as a 7-year-old (US Army brat). My favorite thing has always been exploring new places and "getting lost on purpose".

It was only after Orange Sparkles was written, edited, rewritten, re-edited, etc. that my family experienced an actual relocation first-hand, when my husband and our three children moved to Tirol, Austria. We have all discovered that a new place is full of surprises (like that parking lots may close at 8pm, even when your car is inside - meaning you'll have to wait until morning to get it out AND pay overnight parking - or having to learn French in German when you don't speak either... Or the awesome surprises like pumpkin and asparagus stands at the side of the road or the many beautiful nearby lakes).

I truly believe that everything can feel just a little bit magical as long as I remember to look at the good parts of my experiences.
