About the Author

Conservationist and cartoonist Alan J. Hesse has over two decades of experience as a field biologist in remote regions of Latin America, much of which served as direct inspiration for many of the scenes and characters in this book. His cartoons have contributed to over 30 conservation projects across the world, and his most recent published comic book is 'The Adventures of Polo the Bear: a story of climate change'.  Dr. Louise Emmons is a field biologist with over 30 years of international research experience in tropical ecology. Her first-hand observations of wildlife in their natural habitat - including that of the rare Maned Wolf, the main character in these fables - forms the scientific backbone of this book. Emmons currently holds a position as Research Associate at the Smithsonian Institution.

    Great comic book. Fun and educational. This is an easy read for kids. It is wonderful to see pics and character descriptions at the end that describe the animals further and relay some facts about each. Children should learn from a young age about animal life, ecology and environmental issues and concerns
