After finally quitting the family business, Curt found his next fixer upper and was ready to start it and write his next book. What he wasn't expecting was to fall for Taylor his neighbor next door along with her mother and niece. As they fell into a relaxed relationship his secrets would come out and a threat to Taylor's family will come into the mix keeping Curt and Taylor struggling to get a hold of the direction of their relationship. Will they hold on and keep the course that leads to a happily ever after. This story starts out grabbing you attention and holds you captive until the last page.

Because her older sister is drug addicted and has spent time in prison for driving a get away car for man who held up a convenience store, Taylor has legal custody of her six year old niece (the star of the book) Reese. When a friendly man buys the house next door, he becomes instant friends with Reese when he returns her cat and then promises to play soccer with her and teach her lacrosse. As Reese, Taylor, and Priscilla (Taylor's mom) spend time with him while he is rehabbing his house, Taylor can't help but think he's keeping something from her. He is, he's the very well off nephew of the president of the United States. A quick read, as is the rest of this series. It is fun to read about all the members of the Sherbrook family. Reese is a witty child, very advanced for her age, very well written conversation between her and the adults. Precocious, but not bratty. Taylor is a DEA agent and Priscilla is a librarian who makes Curt's decision to not tell who he is right away when she introduces him by his pen name from the very successful novel he's written.

I’ve found a new and wonderful author and series! I’m not about to give away the storyline so just know that this series has very relatable characters who tug at your heartstrings and females who are independent, smart and caring. My favorite character is the 7 year old niece who has no edit button and makes me laugh out loud. It’s a great series. This is my 3rd book in it and I love it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I really liked this book! The characters are all great! Loved the fact that people with money could behave like normal, nice, regular people. I really liked Curt and how he interacted with Taylor and Reese, her niece. He sounds like the perfect guy! And I like Taylor too, how she's a kick butt working woman who also loves taking care of her niece. There are some issues, of course, but I liked the fact that the characters dealt with them sensibly (none of this holding unreasonable grudges or anything like that). I highly recommend this book!

I loved the whole story, and everything about it.....except the ending. Yes, the author left us with somewhat of a HEA....but IMO- the ending I think was much too abrupt. The story was made on a slow building romance, and it was absolutely perfect. That's why I decided to give this the 4 star rating. But..... after we all sat here waiting for the big pay off to happen, what did we get? All we got was a few tearful words back and forth about how ashamed Taylor was about her sisters shameful behavoir, and Curt assuring her that no one would blame her for her sisters actions. They proclaim their love for one another, then they kiss and that's it??? I wanted the whole big blow- out affair. I wanted big engagement announcements in the paper, as well as the wedding bells, and the big move into the new house.

Alright; I might have been too greedy with my expectations, but good Lord...I'd really hoped to see more happen than what we got, anyway.

I love the Sherbrooks. I love how Christina writes. I wait for each book to go live. Curt and Taylor's story doesn't dissapoint. Curt meets the Walker family when he returns their cat. Mom invites him for dinner since he just moved in. They get to know Curt the writer. Bearded and glasses he decides it better if they don't know who he really is, until he falls for her. Now he has to tell her the truth. There is a whole lot to this story. Taylor, her niece, her mom, and her evil sister. There's humorous banter, passion, and family. I love all 10 of these books. They are all stand alone.

I love this series and think the author does a wonderful job with each book. Having said this, however, I have a problem with something that seems to be getting worse with each book. It is the editing...or the lack of it. I am one of those readers who get distracted with poor editing. The examples here range from using "all most" instead of "almost" or not capitalizing the "p" in the President of the United States. There are more and I wish this was addressed. And, although I enjoyed the plot of this book I think the ending was much to abrupt. It goes from having a discussion of concerns the heroine has for their relationship and then the author just ends the book a few sentences later...I have to say I was somewhat disappointed...

Wow another brilliant read from Christina. Loved that Curt was so down to earth and that Taylor was so not your typical woman but and extraordinary woman who worked in the DEA and was so loving with her niece Reese, Reese is quite the talker but also endearing and funny. Glad to hear about the other past characters from this series can’t wait to read mor from this family

This is a sweet love story showcasing family ties. A little predictable but easy to read. I liked the characterisation, and the family structures. There were places that more detail would have lifted the story and the ending was a little flat but regardless of all that it was a pretty good read!
