In today’s world, I hear organizations and individuals say
that they are doing more with less, or they have too much on their plate. In fact, the “S” word is used 24/7, and the word I am referring to is stress! The HeartMath Institute in California describes stress in this way: “Stress is a perception.
Stress occurs when an individual’s perception of pressure or challenge exceeds his/her perceived ability to cope” (Spring 2006 Newsletter from Institute of HeartMath).
What this means is that most of us blame our external
environment for the stress in our lives, but stress is actually caused by how we choose to react to a situation.
