The conclusion to a medical crisis on Earth in a trilogy that introduces a new universe of adventures. Specialists from spaceship Chiron are working with alien scientists while furtively aiding a secret science society on the planet. However, that shortcut to solving Earth’s problem could endanger their relationship with planetary officials. Meanwhile, Chiron deals with aliens on nearby planets to gain more information and goodwill as they solve some of the neighbourhood’s problems. Armed with new information, they meet back at their new home base, but soon find their relationship with the planet’s government strained. Desperate to gain back the trust and aid of the innovative aliens, the crew of Chiron find themselves involved in interplanetary conflict as they strive to produce a vaccine to send home to Earth.
My fiction writing brings together years of science studies, work in heath care, and training and assistant teaching as a black belt in karate. After reading stacks of science fiction in my youth, I was inspired by space adventures such as Star Trek and medical thrillers by Dr. Robin Cook. Before publishing Earth and Beyond, I had articles on art and science fiction published in print and on-line magazines and served as editor for a newsletter/magazine for several years. Selling fantasy art and approved paintings and products related to the Canadian Musical Ride prepared me for doing some graphic design for fellow visual artists and for my own novel cover and ads.
In my town in New Brunswick, Canada, I run a writing group, am a literacy volunteer at school, and enjoys gardening, creative cooking, yoga, photography, kicking back to good movies and shows, and, of course, my family.
If all you’ve known is aggression, it’s not surprising you’d hide from everyone. The aliens called Tasla-min evolved in troubled times from mutated ancestors who roam the galaxy wreaking havoc. However, this race might hold the key solving a Pandora’s box of illnesses on Earth. Thus, mission specialists on spaceship Chiron must befriend them.
Ironically, as a Canadian, I was raised with peace. After our American neighbours fought to be released from mother England, we asked, “Can we please be independent, too?” She said yes. Canadians were integrated into the British army and spy service during the second world war, and big brother, the United States of America fought alongside both of us.
An Ambassador said to us, “but please buy your own military airplanes. You expect us to help you, and we will, but…” Despite that, we’ve been great friends, sending rescuers, taking in stranded 911 travellers, and much, much more. They’ve always taken it in good grace when we beat them in hockey games…
Then Americans hired the big bad wolf to lead them, and he’s huffing and puffing all over the place. He just can’t stop puffing. Over the years, Canada has grown up a lot, and being forced to survive our winters has made us tough. We’ll get through this. It’s only four years, after all. Or is it?

Shoot for Earth: MedSci Missions 3
A message from Chiron, orbiting high above, told O’Bien that the enigmatic aliens down here had made no response. There was only the steady hum of the generic stay-away message. Were these beings afraid of everyone? O’Bien hoped they’d decide to embrace humans. It was understandable the Tasla-min wanted to keep the aggressive Tasla race away, and the Octopoids they’d met – but were they aware that it was only the poids who frequented outer space who were the marauders? The cool poid scientists stayed at home learning the secrets of the skies from their observatories, and imagining what was beyond from there. Perhaps this peaceful visit would open their minds to being a part of the greater galaxy.
