A few minutes later, Sufra called Ambassador O’Bien. “About your request for me to report to the planetary party, ma’am. Eisenhauer specialises in artefact coding done by the Fabarian aliens on the artefact. He would be better suited for your needs.”
“I would agree with you except Mr. Takahashi insisted we bring you instead. He was so adamant that your experience with poids would give us an advantage that I decided to go along with it. I assume you can brush up on Eisenhauer’s work and be able to discuss it for about an hour with poid scientists?”
“Yes, of course, ma’am,” Sufra said. “I’ll be ready.” She put her Pocod down. Her experience with the poids! she thought. A shot of anger hit her brain. Did Woon expect her to do combat again? Why else take her instead of Eisenhauer? She picked up her device again to call Woon and shout at him, but thought better of it. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. Woon was meditative and peace loving himself, and still recovering from his own guilt. Perhaps the pilot figured it would be good for her to have pleasant contact with poids to chase away the nightmares she’d confided in him about. He was a good man, she should give him the benefit of the doubt. In any case, she’d better get to work.
