Synopsis
What would you do if you could disappear? Tulip, a friendly troll seeking an adventure and still working on her disappearing act, is mostly invisible when she is discovered under a bridge by Bossy, a friendly cat who leads Tulip on a series of adventures, beginning in the chicken coop with an unwanted visitor and then to the Maywood Celebration where her singing helps her find Swede, her Troll Country friend who didn’t know she had mostly disappeared in his rucksack.

Author Biography
When my first Siamese cat gave birth to six kittens on my bed, my appreciation for differences and the love of cats started. Cats and students have been a big part of my life for fifty years. Creative Writing was among the high school English courses I taught over my forty years in the classroom. I always wrote with my students. It provided me with knowledge of the assignment and led me down my own path of discovery. After retirement I was able to follow my passion of writing for young readers. I enjoy reading my books in elementary school classrooms and talking to my audience. They always provide me with amazing ideas and I have been able to use some of them to create new stories. I live in Colorado with my husband and one senior cat. I also enjoy being an active grandmother.

Interesting Food Effects

Sometimes the foods we eat have an interesting side note--so to speak. Grasshoppers, a love for Tulip, has just that. First she smells like mint when she mostly disappears so Bossy can find her and then she emits quite another smell after eating grasshoppers. I had some fun with this part and thought kids would enjoy it.

Book Excerpt

Tulip's Disappearing Act

Suddenly the mint scent disappeared and a rather foul smell filled the coop. Bossy knew it wasn’t chicken smell. She’d been in the coop many times and had never smelled this odor.

“Do you smell something bad?” Bossy asked Tulip.

“Smell what?” Tulip asked.

“It smells like rotten eggs or something. I’ve never smelled that in here. I wonder if there are some bad eggs in here.”

“I don’t smell anything unusual,” Tulip said as she munched on another grasshopper.” Feeling safe inside the chicken coop, she became visible so Bossy could see her. The mint smell was gone, but the foul smell lingered.

Bossy started to explore the coop and sniff in different nests and areas. When she came closer to Tulip, the smell was strong.
