Can a cat have magical powers? Are cats able to predict a future event? From Egyptian times to the present, cats in many cultures are considered both lucky and magical. Is Little Honker one of those magical cats? Little Honker seems to have some magical powers and predicts an upcoming event.

Author Biography

When my first Siamese cat gave birth to six kittens on my bed, my appreciation for differences and the love of cats started. Cats and students have been a big part of my life for fifty years. Creative Writing was among the high school English courses I taught over my forty years in the classroom. I always wrote with my students. It provided me with knowledge of the assignment and led me down my own path of discovery. After retirement I was able to follow my passion of writing for young readers. I enjoy reading my books in elementary school classrooms and talking to my audience. They always provide me with amazing ideas and I have been able to use some of them to create new stories. I live in Colorado with my husband and one senior cat. I also enjoy being an active grandmother.

Kids and books! It doesn't get any better than that and now Amazon is promoting this book for $3.94. Get it while you can for that price. Recently a former colleague asked me if I always wanted to write. YES! And, I knew I wanted to write books for kids. I always wrote with my students as well as for myself. A milestone for me was actually seeing my work in print! I'm proud of all my Little Honker books and feel honored that Glasses for Margie was a finalist in the CO Authors' League contest. When Would You Like a Scarlet Striped Schrinkler? finally appeared in print, I was thrilled. It was a rough road. But, I'm most pleased celebrating with my grandkids who continue to inspire me. My youngest granddaughter was with me all the way for Backyard and recently called and said, "Grandma, I have an idea for a book you should write." It is on the way because it was a great idea. Knowing my stories engage kids pleases me every day.

Little Honker's Backyard Adventures

“Well, it looks like Frankie and Honker will be a good team. Honker is always up for something new,” Kari said.

“Two Siamese creatures seeking something new? Hold on neighborhood! You all might be in for a big surprise,” Kris said.

“I agree,” Kaycee said as she leaned down to pick up Fanta.

Mary was still holding Frankie as Kris reached over to pick up Little Honker. “What do you think, Honker? Are our new neighbors going to provide more new adventures for us?”

Little Honker was focused on Fanta and Frankie. The trio’s eyes were locked. There seemed to be instant bonding and before Mary, Kaycee, or Kris knew it, the four-legged gang jumped from their humans’ arms and were off together.

“There goes the Trio of Trouble!” Garret and Sheridan said at once.
