Chapter Five
“Help me!” he honked as loudly as he could while gasping for air.
The ducklings started firing questions in Warren’s direction.
“What’s wrong, Warren?”
“Why can’t you get back in your floater?”
“Can’t you just swim to the edge and get out?”
And then one of the ducklings said, “You really are not very good at this swimming thing.”
“Help me!” Warren honked again. “I can’t (gasp) swim (gasp).” Warren was moving in the direction of the edge, but he kept going under the water. Every time his head popped out of the water, he gasped for air.
All four ducklings came paddling as fast as their little legs would let them. Instinct set in and the ducklings went into action.
“Hold on, Warren. We’ll help you swim to the side so you can get out.”
