Margie quietly approached and appeared to be unnoticed by this invader. She took her stand. She arched her back and started her foot-stomping maneuvers. She was ready to give this intruder her Skunk Perfume Special when Duchess arrived on the scene along with his side-kick Jack. Duchess started to bark. The intruder was alarmed. Into the pond it went. The intruder started to swim in an attempt to get away from Duchess. Now King Tut was on the scene and ready for action. Margie and Duchess were on opposite sides of the pond. King Tut and Jack took the other two sides. Was it a stare down or time for an all-out fight?
The intruder was trapped. And then, suddenly it was on Margie’s side of the pond ready to escape. Margie arched, showed her skunk business, and before the intruder knew it, the skunk perfume escaped and found its way to the unwanted guest! Margie’s aim was perfect. Did her glasses help with her aim? She got the intruder in the face. Phew! Doc’s backyard animals were used to this odor, but the intruder was not. This perfume was not welcomed and regardless of the attempts to wipe the smell off, it stayed. The task was accomplished and Doc’s group let the intruder escape.
Doc’s yard family cheered as the intruder headed for the fence. Duchess barked gleefully. King Tut meowed and twirled around and around Margie as if to say, “Thank you!” Jack hopped to the edge of the pond and then onto Duchess. Finally Mathew and Matilda came out of the shelter honking with joy. Thanks to Margie and her new glasses, Doc’s yard was back to normal.
