My mother loved singing and God blessed her with a beautiful voice. At rehearsal and on Sunday mornings, one would find me near my mother in the soprano section of the choir stand. While I loved gospel music (and still do), hymns, spirituals, and anthems appealed to me most. Now, in adulthood, sacred music and prayer, my first connection with God, continues to inspire and order my steps each day. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, I thank and appreciate my Mama who taught me to love God and to rejoice in Him. Sing a little tune and enjoy your Happy Mother’s Day weekend!
