In my lifetime and more than likely during your lifetime; we have never experienced a close encounter of calamity such as COVID-19. Suddenly, schools are closing, church services cancelled, and businesses scrabbling to also close their doors. These disruptions in our lives scream havoc, fear, and uncertainty as we navigate a steady path to peace and normalcy.
While the world was not prepared for this pandemic, without a doubt we have equipped ourselves to carry on as much as possible while we begin to quarantine ourselves. Students and parents are executing virtual learning whereby teachers teach and children learn via online devices, churches are streaming Sunday services, businesses are allowing employees to work from home, restaurants are utilizing take-out and delivery services, brick and mortar businesses have online websites, etc.
Unfortunately, people and businesses are still suffering financially and emotionally. We are frightened, our children are anxious, and some may even question if God hears our cries.
Overall, we must not underestimate the power of constant prayer. Talk and pray with your children. Let them know that through our distress, God “hears” our prayers. Have a little talk with Jesus today. He loves us and He’s listening!
Special thanks to doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers who are on the front line working on our behalf.
