Since we had not planned on being home for Thanksgiving and I had not gone grocery shopping, Rob ordered Thanksgiving dinner from Bob Evans. Unfortunately, none of us had an appetite because of being sick, so we ate leftovers for the next two days. It was definitely a Thanksgiving to remember, but I would not forget the lessons I had learned. Rather than focusing on the negatives, I embraced the blessings of the situation:
• Bryce being sick now meant fewer chances of having to cancel his surgery on Dec 29th.
• We all got to be home all week together.
• No one was so sick they had to go to the hospital.
• Bryce’s nose bleeds had finally stopped.
• Reyna did not get sick.
• The rest of my family that went to Tennessee had good weather, so they made it safely there and back home.
Looking at the positives helped remind me that there is a blessing from God in every bad situation if you just take a moment to look for it.
