Benjamin spoke up. “One of the most important things women did was stop buying imported goods, like fabrics, furniture, and tea from the British. This kept the British from collecting money, and it helped Americans figure out new ways to make the things we wanted and needed. That prepared us to be an independent country and build a strong economy.”
Anna nodded. “I didn’t mind giving up imported tea. We made our own herbal blends, and just like now, we drank cider, coffee, and hot chocolate.”
