Tara slowed her car and sized up the glut of local and New York City media vehicles crammed in front of the hospital, regurgitating strings of reporters with microphones pressed to their mouths. And it wouldn’t be long before protestors arrived to join the melee.

Senator Diane Fenwick had done everything she could to make sure Marley would be able to have her baby in the serene suburbs, nestled far from the hubbub of New York City.
But the senator’s hot-button stance on immigration reform, aimed particularly at stopping MS-13 gang members and other criminals from crossing the US/Mexican border, thrust her into the limelight once again, and unfortunately Marley was swept up into her mother’s tidal wave of public opinion.
