Kelsie’s eyebrows knit together. “So, are we going to renew our vows every Christmas?”
Pushing her raven locks off her shoulder, I say, “No, love. What we will do is gather our family and friends around us for an anniversary celebration each year. We’ll exchange gifts and appreciate those we cherish.”
Her eyes sparkle with overwhelming delight. That’s my doing.
“But I haven’t given you a gift yet?” she says.
I lower my voice. “Oh, but you will. This party concludes with us going to a cottage at an inn up in the Catskills. I plan on unwrapping my present slowly.” A dangerous, mischievous tone slips into my voice. “It might even take all night.”
Kelsie swats at my chest. “You’re bad.”
“Ah, you don’t know the half of it. I’ve waited a long time for you.”
