Seeking my salvation, I hurried from the room and ran smack into a brick wall. Not a literal surface, but he was just as inflexible. Glancing up, I locked eyes with Bishop.
Years ago, I thought the man was handsome. Correction. I thought his brother was handsome. Although they were twins, Cade’s eyes reminded me of green grass on a warm summer’s day. Bishop’s were more like cut glass—sharp and edgy and ready to pounce. The two men were as opposite as day and night. Cade had a heart where Bishop only had a black hole in his chest. How I wished I’d killed Bishop instead of Cade. A mistake that would weigh on me until the day I drew my last breath.
When he smiled, I snarled. “What the fuck do you want?”
“Interesting choice of words.”
