Mrs. Oliver testifies Kali Churn came nearly every evening and often had his meals at the mission. Initially he ate with the teachers, and then he took his meals in the drawing room. “Twice I saw Miss Pigot with him,” she adds.
“Did you see Babu Banerjee in any other room?” Mr. Gasper asks.
“No, but I saw him coming out of the room Miss Pigot uses as an office.”
“Did you observe anything you thought inappropriate?” Mr. Gasper asks.
“I saw several things I didn’t like,” Mrs. Oliver says.
“Tell us,” Mr. Gasper says with rapt attention.
