“Mr. Hastie, you’ve put together an excellent case. You hardly need my services.” Mr. Geddes chuckles.
Annoying man. I’m not paying him. The mission will have to absorb the cost. I did nothing but my duty. In fact, I did more. I put together the entire case. I could have done the filings if the High Court allowed laymen to do their own work. Mr. Geddes is short, stout, and has a runny nose. The less time spent with him, the better.
“I engaged Mr. Gasper as your barrister.” Mr. Geddes wipes his nose. “He’s an excellent man.”
“I shall represent myself.”
Mr. Geddes stops wiping his nose and turns to look me straight in the eye. “Surely not.”
