Jacques stroked his short beard. “You are clever, Capitaine Sizbee. Did a bird tell you about the embargo?”
Nath shrugged and offered his hand to Jacques, who waved it away.
“Birds are very clever,” Jacques commented. “They don’t like to leave their nests.”
“I’ve seen them fly out to sea during the day and back to shore in the evening. Do you think they wish they had a boat?”
