“Minnie, we’re going to step out in faith.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“It’s time to build a proper stone church for Mukti. It will give the villagers jobs and keep the girls busy carrying materials. Everyone will realize how blessed Mukti is.”
“Well,” Minnie laughed, “God gave us plenty of stones. We still have piles from the last building project.”
“Those aren’t the right stones. We’ll use the stones left from digging our wells. Minnie, you look confused.”
“Even after all this time you still surprise me. What’s the difference between one stone and another? What’s special about the stones from the wells?”
Rama shook her head.
“Did you forget God’s miracle at the well named Patience? It never runs dry. Not once. God told me where to dig. When the workers claimed there was no water, I told them to dig deeper. And the spring burst forth.
