Rama looked around the lounge with interest. It looked similar to venues in Boston but was much larger. Lacking a carpet, sound bounced off every surface. Sarah arrived at a table with several women.
“Mrs. Cooper, I’ve brought you Pandita Ramabai.”
“Very pleased to meet you.”
Rama extended her hand to an older woman with a variation on Sarah Hamlin’s hairstyle. Mrs. Cooper had row curls on either side of her face with the rest of her graying hair pulled back into a sort of braided bun. Long dangly earrings softened her face.
“We’re just putting together a resolution supporting your work. I’ll introduce it after the speeches on early education.”
