“Dr. Bodley’s death is such a shock. She seemed perfectly healthy when I saw her a few days before.”
“Please,” Rama asked hesitantly, “can you tell me what happened?”
“She just fell down dead. The doctor said it was a heart attack. Her poor mother was staying with her at the time. It’s a terrible thing when your child passes first. It’s just not right.” Mrs. Brentwood collected herself. “I’m sorry you were called back from your tour, but we have to settle Dr. Bodley’s affairs, one of which is your book. How was the tour going, by the way?”
Rama rested her hand on the stair bannister. She felt like she might float away. It was hot and sticky.
