Will Mano recognize me? The train began to slow down. Rama watched anxiously through the windows, her shoulders once again tense. Yes! There was a nun and a small figure next to her. It was Mano. Thank God! I’m home at last.
As soon as Rama’s feet hit the platform, Mano ran to her mother. Rama knelt to catch the child. The two created a single unit for several minutes. Rama leaned back.
“Let me look at you.” Rama stroked Mano’s dark hair away from her eyes. Mano jumped away and grabbed Rama’s hand.
“Mama, come with Mano. Sister Agnes takes us home. Don’t leave again.”
