“At last,” Rama mumbled as Mano bounced on her lap. The carriage pulled up the circular drive in front of the Mother House. Rama looked at the stone building that would be her home for the next five years. The blocks looked solid, as if the building could never fall. The doorways were high and the doors thick wood with shiny black metal hardware. Rama had never seen anything like it. Several Sisters stood at the bottom of the steps. There she was, Sister Geraldine.
“Look, Mano, look. It’s Sister Geraldine.”
