Rama’s mouth dropped open. She felt something roil inside as her life’s disillusions rose up to her throat like vomit. Her father serving Lord Krishna, dead of starvation. Her brother destroying his health for Lord Hanuman, dead in an instant. And this man, this missionary, claiming that anyone who believed in his god would never die. Color rose in Rama’s cheeks.
