“Father,” Rama said, hesitantly. “The driver needs a helper.”
“Pay no attention to her,” Srinivas said. “She doesn’t understand the driver’s job.”
“Why is that, Rama?”asked Anant.
Rama looked at her brother. Now she’d started something. “I know the driver’s supposed to take care of the animal and the cart and our belongings.”
Anant nodded.
“But I don’t think it’s fair for him to have to do the heavy work by himself. I think he needs a boy to help him.”
