“Nate, you’re right on time.” Elias smiled broadly. “Allow me to introduce my sister, Miss Elizabeth Derby, generally known as Betsey.”
The slender woman standing next to Elias turned and extended her hand.
She was the loveliest woman Nate had ever seen, not that he’d seen very many, but he was sure no one could match her beauty. Her dark hair was gathered in a ribbon, leaving a fringe at her forehead and curls framing her heart-shaped face. Her eyes were dark and lustrous, her nose straight, and her lips . . .
Nate tore his eyes away and bowed over her hand.
“Miss Derby,” he murmured, touching his lips to her fingertips.
