You think I should go to sea and float around on a leaky boat, like your brothers. Don’t you realize young men go to sea, because if they survive and make their fortune, they won’t have to go to sea anymore? The point is to make money, not excel at navigational techniques, though there is a place for that in business calculations.”
Eliza shifted her feet. “We should go back inside.”
“Why? Does the truth make you uncomfortable? I thought you would prefer a man who tells you the truth about his business, not one still projecting what he wants to do.
