Synopsis

Kevin Dowd has been plaguing small towns in suburban Connecticut with face-to-face holdups at ATM Machines. Two people are killed in the process. Kevin takes haven in AA meetings immediately after his perpetrations using his attendance to hide from the case-assigned Detective. Dowd is not an alcoholic or addict. Detective Doreen Pousant is getting closer to finding the ATM highwayman and after 2-years the trail keeps ending at St Raphael’s church. Pousant’s alcoholism impedes her progress and she finds herself going into St. Rachael’s AA meetings looking for the criminal. She finds more than confronting her own alcoholism. Her investigation reveals an ongoing plot infiltrating the banking system based in New York City. Further probes uncover that the 2007-9 US economic downfall had its roots in a similar Islamic extremist attack. The ATM perp, the Connecticut Detective and some AA members are caught up in a deadly confrontation that reaches from the small town of Prichard, CT and New York City to Iran and its Al Qaeda links.

Author Biography

As a retired physician I’m devoting my time to writing novels, memoir-based fiction and short stories. My life as an author of fiction began in 2003 after a few years at Toastmasters International delivering captivating stories and speeches. I believe literature should be educational, fun, serious, full of feelings and always with a touch of fantasy and a thread of truth. Like all my novels true lifetime situations are interwoven with suspenseful and intriguing story lines. My 13 novels and short story book bear that philosophy out. Reviews of my books in Amazon.com have been 5-star. Comments for WHO WILL WEEP FOR ME such as “high school coming of age makes the story feel authentic and make the reader want more” is typical of reader satisfaction. I live with my wife in San Antonio near my daughter and her family with four of my grandchildren. Terrorists target global banking

Meza is a New York bank executive overtly but secretly he is an Al Qaeda jihadist. Many such terrorists have been trained to attack a nation's economy with blood-letting a secondary consequence. Kevin and his friend Wynona have discovered the terrorist plan to undermine the Islamic nations' banks. Meza, Kevin, and Wynona met at AA meetings. Meza began his alcohol addiction while trying to masquerade as an Islamic banker who was westernized. Meza feigned favoring capitalistic goals of expensive living. Alcohol addiction, however, required him to seek a way to stop drinking, which AA has done. Now he can continue his US bank sabotage but first he has to eliminate Kevin and Winona who know his secrets.

MY NAME IS KEVIN

Meza couldn’t sleep. He had to get up early and go to his New York apartment before he met with Kevin and Wynona at Grand Central. The meeting would be at the Mendy’s Kosher Delicatessen for breakfast. It was a popular fast and crowded place and opened at 6:00 AM to accommodate the first exiting throngs of train commuters. He had told them to be there at 8:15. They would go to the Park Avenue Chase bank first. Even if the documents were there Kori wanted to know the contents of the Times Square Chase branch before they dispatched Kevin and Wynona to Paradise. How Kori had planned this was a question mark.

He left the motel but didn’t check out. The possibility of coming back to Prichard as an alibi to anything that might happen in New York City might be important for those snoopy detectives. Still what bothered Meza the most was Niyoosh’s killing. He’d pick up his .380 Beretta automatic at his apartment before the meeting. Meza looked at his watch. He had plenty of time. It only took a little over an hour to get to Manhattan from Prichard at this time of the morning.
