“Barbara, I’m almost at Dr. Bergan Krantz’s office. How much should I tell him about Binelli? I mean she referred me to him.” Swanson watched the elevator numbers ascend to Krantz’s floor.
“David. Don’t you ever listen? Mum’s the word. We don’t tell anyone about Binelli’s call or our suspicions–no police and no doctors. He could be part of it.” Winn looked at the ceiling as she spoke.
“I guess I still have trust issues. Okay. I do have another development though.” Swanson related his conversation with Mallory Fender.
“I’m glad you didn’t tell him about her kidnapping or anything other than her hotel room mugging and hospitalization. Let Nosh be the first to enlighten him. She knows how to handle shock confrontations apart from getting emotional.”
“Barbara, I couldn’t tell him much because of his personal interest. At least not yet. I’ll wait until I see Nosh again.” Swanson‘s elevator let him off at Krantz’s floor. “I’m going in to see Krantz. He requested the return appointment. He wanted to follow-up on my PTSD and Lisa Feldman’s impact on my psyche.”
“Just watch out. I smell a rat between Krantz and Binelli. And call me right after your interview is over.” She was about to hang up when another thought broke through. “By the way, when do you see Binelli again?”
“Tomorrow. I have blood work and a refill on my study meds.” He was at Krantz’s office.
“David, make any excuse you can not to get any more injections when you see Binelli. You do have patient rights especially with clinical trials.”
Swanson agreed and walked into Krantz’s office and the receptionist’s smiling face.
