The two burly men clad in maroon scrubs drove the medical transport van to a parking garage and transferred the comatose Feldman to a black Chevrolet Suburban. They used the aluminum frame gurney from the stolen nursing home transport vehicle, which still had the attached portable I.V. pole dripping glucose solution slowly from a liter bag.
“We should give her a booster of that benzo. The next leg of our trip is two hours to Delaware.” The short-haired man and driver started the Suburban.
“Not too much and slow the I.V. drip down or she’ll release her bladder on the gurney.” The other burly man closed the passenger door.
They arrived at a small nursing care facility in Georgetown, Delaware not far from the Maryland border. Feldman was quickly moved into the building at the rear receiving ramp and equally fast was settled in a locked hospital-like room.
