Dunder Under still came to visit in the summers. She was great friends with the Eel family. They would go out when the ocean was calm and have fun together. Dunder Under would lay on top of the water and twirl in one direction. The eels would swim around her in the other direction. If the tourists on the beach saw them, they would say, “Look! A flying saucer!”
Sometimes the eels would slide up on Dunder Under’s apron, and she would do a juggling act with them. Then she would flip them up high into the air and they would sque-e-e-eal an eel squeal! What fun!
Grandpa Carmi had moved to Topsail Island, and he would still tinker in his workshop. He had made several inventions which had helped all the sea creatures. Turtella helped Mother and Father Turtle take care of Grandpa Carmi, but he usually did fine by himself. Turtella just had to tell him to stop and eat sometimes.
