Topsey and Tivy had paired up and learned how to swim together, using Tivy’s eyes to navigate and Topsey’s flippers to swim. They made a great team and had so much fun.
Last semester, all the students had learned how to paint and had become artists! They painted beautiful seascapes in abalone shells. Tivy would walk along holding the little paintbrush in his mouth, adding little details to the pictures, such as eyes and mouth on an octopus or eel peeking out from behind a rock. All the students were such good artists.
Topsey was very satisfied that all the turtles were well beyond their grade level in their other skills as well. They were all excellent swimmers and divers, and their camouflage techniques were excellent. They loved to have swimming races during recess every day, but Maxie was the best and fastest swimmer of them all.
