“I don’t want…to die out there,” Skylar sobbed. The deep, dark of space. For any land dweller who traveled between planets, it became a primal fear.
Devries sighed. “It won’t come to that.”
Several hours later it happened as Devries planned. Fry sensed it first. “I feel strange. So sleepy,” he said.
Devries watched as they fought against the invisible gas. He wanted to warn them not to struggle. To tell them that fighting would make it more difficult. Before he got the words out, his eyes drifted closed. He fell into a deep sleep. Then death.
