Why Do I Trust God?
I was sixteen when I became a Christian. I met my husband, Bob during my freshman year. We were married four years later. I went through biblical counseling following Bob's suicide. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."(Proverbs 3:5) I met my counselor once a week for six weeks. My counselor assigned lots of books to read as well as bible verses. Here are some of the bible verses that I found very powerful. "Bad news won't bother them; they have decided to trust the LORD. (Psalm 112:7) "And those who know Your name put their trust in You, For You, O LORD have not forsaken those who seek You." (Psalm 9:10) "The Lord is my strength and my shield: my heart trusts in Him." (Psalm 28:7).

God is Enough
In the midst of the most horrific event of my life, God showed me that HE IS ENOUGH. He met me where I was. “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18 ESV) He loved me enough to not let me stay brokenhearted. “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” (Psalm 40:2 NIV)
I am not the same person today that I was prior to my husband’s suicide. Now, I know God in a way that I have never known Him before. After my husband’s death, God did a complete makeover of my life.
