Often, even if at an unconscious level, we are invested in whatever is holding us back. Sometimes, it’s a fear of success that can be even more debilitating than a fear of failure. Sometimes, we’re afraid that whatever we are engaged in will change us so radically that it will render us unrecognizable, as much to ourselves as to others. Write until you feel complete, then keep writing for a further 15 or 20 minutes in order to go deeper.
Were you surprised? Whatever it was that emerged will assist you in the next chapter, as you “Talk to Your Block.”
