What in your life are you self-conscious about? What about yourself do you fear or refuse to experience or express out in the world? Let a few responses bubble up into your conscious awareness — without judgment and without censorship. Allow yourself to open. Allow yourself to be surprised.
Do you know why you are self-conscious? It is the same reason that anyone is self-conscious about anything: fear of your power.
Look into all those places in your life where you are self-conscious. Peer into the dark closets of your reluctance, the dust-filled attics of your concealment, the clammy cellars of your fear.
Are you self-conscious about your looks? Then perhaps you mask through your self-consciousness a beauty, inner and outer, that is so magnificent it frightens you.
Are you self-conscious about the words you craft on the page? Then perhaps that self-consciousness masks the immense power of your creative spirit.
Are you self-conscious about letting your voice ring out with your truth? Then know that what you fear is not another’s reaction. What you fear is your power.
Self-consciousness is your ego-mind’s protection against the very force and beauty of your power.
Again:
Self-consciousness is your ego-mind’s protection
against the very force and beauty of your power.
So look at those areas in your life where you carry self-consciousness and know that in those areas have you the greatest power.
