Your book exists. I know it’s hard to believe when all you see in front of you is a blank page or an empty screen. I know it’s hard to believe when you gaze down at your virginal white sheet or stare at the pixel blinking at you accusingly and nothing is there — no words, no ideas…no book. I know it’s hard to believe when no hint presents itself of which key to press to get started, of which letter to form to launch your book’s journey from conception to creation.
The emptiness terrifies you. Of course, it does. “You’re not a writer,” it shrieks. “If you were, you would know how to start.”
Your doubts deepen. “How can there be a book inside me? Why can’t I see it? Why can’t I know it? Is it even real?”
Your book is real. It’s as real as you are. Believe in it as it believes in you. Be ready for it, for it has long been ready for you.
How?
Learn to listen for your book. Learn to listen to your book. It will materialize…as first one word, then another; as first one sentence, then another; as first one page, then another. Then another.
It will materialize if you let it, if you let its words spill out of you, if you let its words continue to spill out of you until the book is written.
It will materialize if you let it.
Let it.
