“So, Esther was having one of her attention-seeking hyperventilation acts. You know, the one where she places a hand to her head and starts fluttering her eyes? And then she sinks slowly to the ground like she’s having a fit? Well, I’m just about to bend down and pat her hand or something, when Janey pushes me out of the way and throws a jug of water over Esther! Imagine! A jug of cold water that she was about to use to fill up a vase of flowers that are on the desk.”
I giggle, thinking back to the scene where Esther spluttered and gasped and was miraculously cured of her fainting fit. “Janey immediately helped Esther up, saying how happy she was that Esther was alright. She half-heartedly apologised for the cold water, saying that she panicked when she saw Esther collapse. But, I know Janey, she decided to put an end to Esther’s histrionics. Can you imagine, Mamma? All those times we’ve had to endure Esther’s drama and Janey has solved it in one go!”
