Marcha Fox’s passion for science fiction began as a child. Her determination to write in that genre knew no bounds, such that she even went back to college in her 30s to obtain a bachelor’s of science degree in physics, after which she spent over 20 years working at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Science and engineering experience notwithstanding, it’s the unexplained mysteries of the cosmos, such as the concept of a universal consciousness, which provide the setting for Beyond the Hidden Sky, first volume of a four-part series. Centered on the Brightstar family who has been torn apart by a storm of political and scientific intrigue, they will stop at nothing until they are reunited.
Her newest work comprises The Curse of Dead Horse Canyon Trilogy written with her Cheyenne co-author, Pete Risingsun. This complex saga juxtaposes Cheyenne History and spiritual practices against a corrupt government in a conspiracy thriller unlike any you've ever read before.
It seems everyone is feeling the crunch of inflation these days which means cutting the budget. One item that can suffer the most in such times is entertainment. Going to a movie with a family now costs the proverbial King's Ransom, especially at the snack bar. But fun is essential, more so than ever during difficult times.
Maybe now is the time to come up with a family hobby or craft activity, better yet if it has sales potential so it pays for itself. Another option, of course, given you're reading this book, is to start working on collecting your family folklore! Easy places to start are favorite recipes or family stories. Give it a try!

The Family History Fun Factor
What artistic abilities are there in your family? If there something in particular that has become a multi-generational pastime, such as making quilts or birdhouses? This is where pictures are truly worth a thousand words since it would be highly impractical to maintain a sample of everything in this category. My mother was an artist and while I have several of her pastels and paintings I can’t find room for the ones I have. My children all have a few and fortunately I have photos of the many she sold over the years. Any competitions, showings, newspaper clippings and such can serve as encouragement for subsequent generations pursuing similar endeavors.
