Synopsis

All Harry wants is a good meal and to be left alone, but instead he gets is a whiny dragon that interrupts his quiet life. Determined to ignore the baby dragon, Harry is faced having accept the changes in his quiet home. He comes to learn that life is easier being alone, but life is better with a dragon.

Author Biography

Lisa Reinicke is the majority holder of Our House Publications and author of 4 published children’s picture books for sale on Amazon and independent book stores. Lisa was honored with the Mom's Choice Gold Award for lifetime literary excellence for her children's book "Wings and Feet in 2017. She is a storyteller and author of 35 children’s stories appearing on local TV shows, elementary schools, and bookstores. The stories have been published in 3 collective recordings for distribution for A Goodnight Sleep Company. She also produced online (virtual) training for service advisors and technicians. Lisa served as head writer and on-camera talent in the videos. Her books are entertaining yet focus on social issues that engage children and parents to discuss. Her four children were all uniquely different ranging from physical differences, adoption, and physiological disorders that lead her following experts in each field to help children overcome the stigma around being different. Lisa passionately works raising money for charities that improve children’s lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

What's Love Got to do with it

The first vision that goes through my mind when I think of love is the movie Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. The whole family was so dysfunctional. Still, the way the characters dealt with differences showed that they loved each other despite all the weirdness. Poor Aunt Bethany wrapping up the cat in a box to Uncle Eddie, who is a disaster, Ellen tries to bring harmony to the house. Until the day, Ellen cracks from the stress of trying to bring everyone together. While no one in our family wraps up a Jell-O-mold or dumps methane down the sewer, we can be a wild bunch to get together for the holidays. There is always the strange present no one knows what to do with. I hate to admit this, but that present usually comes from me. I love to knit and crochet and have been known to whip up a toilet paper cover. Love is something we need to practice to get good at. Love has everything to do with living a good life. Relationships are hard. Relationships are rewarding. Relationships are messy. Relationships are the best part of life. May you have the biggest and brightest Christmas ever!

Harry looked down at little Piff curled up next to him. He smiled and muttered, “Life was certainly easier without a dragon, but life is better with one.” He turned off the light and patted the little dragon.
