Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Lover: I can give forgiveness, but you must receive it. It’s one thing to go through baptism as a sign of this forgiveness, but then to live it out, to live as a forgiven and dearly loved child, well, that is another thing. And that is an important point essential to the freedom, joy, and relationship I am offering. Live out forgiveness. Receive it and give it. That is My way. Walk in it.
4When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. 5But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. 6David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it: 7“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. 8 Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin.” (Romans 4:4-8, NLT)
