2 Corinthians 5:17,18
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun. And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
Beloved: Shepherd, I spend a lot of thought and energy on future things and very little, relatively, in the present. But in these days of weakness, it’s been all about now, not later, not before. You are drawing me close to Yourself and helping me learn to trust You with today and to leave tomorrow to You as well.
Lover: My dearest one, you are not alone. You are deeply and passionately loved. I want you to learn how to receive My love and to return that love. I know these waters are troubling. Past experiences have made you cautious and afraid to trust. But you need to move past these fears and find that I am faithful and true. I will never let you down. I will never desert you. You are Mine, and that brings Me such joy!
Beloved: I want to love You back. I just don’t know how. Please teach me.
1The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. 2He lets me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. 3He gives me new strength. He leads me on paths that are right for the good of his name. 4Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. Your rod and your walking stick comfort me. 5You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head; you fill my cup to overflowing. 6Surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
(Psalm 23, NCV)
