He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Beloved: Shepherd, You are holding me, carrying me, and I am near Your heart. I am content and comfortable, glad to be in Your arms. I don’t want to lose this connection; that scares me. Please protect me from myself and my wandering ways.
Lover: My precious lamb, I will never leave you or forsake you. My answer is always “yes” and “amen, so be it” to your desire to be close to Me. Nothing could bring Me greater joy than being in relationship with you. With Me it is safe to be the real you. After all, I already know you completely.
20Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. 21God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. 22By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
