Selective acceptance
When you see people who are different from you in some way, how do you feel? In this land of "equal opportunity", we may find ourselves thinking of "different people" as less than we are. God sees all of us as less than He is. Yet, when it came to offering salvation, God included us all. Let's try to remember all that we have been forgiven in order to be in God's family, and offer the same to all those around us.

Living in the light
L ORD, some of us think we are living “in the light”
but hate others because they are different from us.
Those differences may be economic, racial, social, or sexual. You tell us that if we hate our fellow believer, then we are still in darkness. Cause us to live in the light, love our fellow believers, and not do anything to cause others to stumble. LORD, help those who hate others to recognize they are still living and walking in darkness, for they don’t know the right way to go, having been blinded by the darkness in their hearts.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
